Community Funding Programs

Community Events

The Community Funding Program aims to encourage new and/or once-off community projects, activities or events with financial assistance to support the project, activity or event to 'get off the ground'.

Where Council financial support is sought on an ongoing basis, a request in writing, with supporting documentation should be submitted for consideration in Council's Annual Business Plan and Budget deliberations.

Organisations are encouraged to seek future support/sponsorship from event participants, partners and/or businesses within the community for a project, activity or event that is planned to become an ongoing/annual event.

There are four funding categories:

  • Group - up to $250
  • Local - up to $500
  • Regional - up to $1,000 (including Council in-kind support)
  • Major - up to $2,000 (including Council in-kind support)

Applications are assessed on the eligibility guidelines and the Evaluation Criteria outlined in our Community Funding Program policy. (refer to link provided below)

To be considered for funding please submit completed application forms to:

Chief Executive Officer
City of Port Lincoln

7.63.6 Community Funding Program Policy

Community Infrastructure Investment

Requests for financial support from Community Groups for infrastructure projects will be received throughout the year, with recommendation to include or not, as a request for budget consideration.

All applications will be submitted on the application form 17-37-T1. The Council will be presented with a report on the risks associated and the viability of the project.  The report may or may not give recommendation for Council to consider this application in the budget process.  The report will have regard to the capacity of the organisation to meet the ongoing costs, loan repayments, the type of the project proposed and the availability of Council funds.

In addition to the requirements and process set out in this application form, the Council may require the appointment of a project manager to ensure that the project complies with all appropriate regulations and standards. This is to safeguard the Council’s investment in a project.

If this application is given budget consideration it will be included in Councils draft budget.  Final adoption of the budget is not a guarantee of funds and prior to release of financial support, the Council must be presented with final quotations, concepts and plans in relation to the proposed project.
