PUBLIC NOTICE

COUNCIL INVITES COMMUNITY INPUT TO DEVELOP A TOURISM STRATEGY FOR PORT LINCOLN AND REGION

The City of Port Lincoln is developing a Tourism Strategy for Port Lincoln and the Southern Eyre Peninsula region and invite you to comment on our existing tourism assets and infrastructure through an online survey

Tourism plays a significant role in Port Lincoln and the Southern Eyre Peninsula, contributing positively to the economy through employment and improved infrastructure and facilities within the region.

The survey has been designed to help Council identify areas of strengths and where improvements can be made to enhance the visitor experience and to grow the tourism industry in the region.  It will also assist Council in establishing priorities for action in the Tourism Strategy.

Have your say by completing the online survey at www.portlincoln.sa.gov.au or a hardcopy survey is available at the Council Office, Level One, Civic Centre, 60 Tasman Terrace, Port Lincoln, Port Lincoln Library, 2 London Street and Port Lincoln Visitor Information Centre, 3 Adelaide Place, or make a written submission to Council via post or email to plcc@plcc.sa.gov.au

A stakeholder workshop will also be held on Tuesday 13 February at the Port Lincoln Hotel from 9.30am to 2.30pm. The workshop is primarily focused towards tourism related businesses; however the general public are welcome to attend.  The session will provide an opportunity for stakeholders to have an input into the strategies to help achieve four identified priority areas:

  • Drive visitor demand,
  • Enhance visitor experience,
  • Tourism Innovation & Sustainability; and
  • Strengthen consultation & partnership.

Expressions of interest for the stakeholder workshop are essential by emailing Nicole Cunningham at nicole.cunningham@plcc.sa.gov.au by Thursday 8 February 2018.

All survey submissions are to be received by Council by 5pm Wednesday 28 February 2018.

Any questions regarding the Tourism Strategy can be directed to the Manager Community Development, Janet Grocke on 8621 2327 or email plcc@plcc.sa.gov.au.
