Port Lincoln & Region Tourism Strategy

Council has identified that with a greater focus on tourism by the Federal, State and Local Government, the development of a new tourism strategy for Port Lincoln and the Southern Eyre Peninsula region is needed to guide future investment.

Tourism plays a significant role in Port Lincoln and the Southern Eyre Pensinula, contributing positively to the economy through employment and improved infrastructure and facilities within the region.

Council is seeking community feedback to assist in developing the new tourism strategy.

A community survey has been developed for the community to rate and comment on Port Lincoln's accommodation, festival and events, food and beverage experiences, transport, and other tourism assets that could be developed and enhanced to improve the experience for tourists and the community as the first step towards a strategy.

The Survey has closed - 28 February 2018

Hardcopy surveys were available from the Council Administration Office, Port Lincoln Library and the Port Lincoln Visitor Information Centre between 2 February to 28 February 2018.

A workshop was held at the Port Lincoln Hotel on Tuesday 13 February 2018 from 9.30am to 2.30pm for identified tourism industry stakeholders and interested persons to attend.

Next Steps

The submissions and feedback received from the survey and workshop will be considered in the preparation of the Draft Port Lincoln & Southern Eyre Peninsula Tourism Strategy before being put out to the community for further comment.
