Ageing Well in Southern Eyre Peninsula

City of Port Lincoln, the District Council of Tumby Bay and the District Council of Lower Eyre Peninsula, are undertaking a collaborative project to support ageing well in our communities.

Consultants, URPS, specialists in age friendly communities, access and inclusion and healthy environments has been engaged to establish Active Seniors Reference Groups in the respective council areas and an Industry Consultative Group, and to deliver an Ageing Strategy for the Southern Eyre Peninsula that facilitates healthy ageing within the region.

Over 40% of our residents are aged over 50 and this proportion will increase over the next ten years.  Working together can make sure our community benefits from the skills and energy active older people bring as well as helping these older people live longer, healthier and happier lives.

Individuals or community group members in this demographic who are striving to live and age well and who demonstrate a real commitment to the wellbeing of our community are encouraged to attend the Port Lincoln Active Seniors Workshop to provide input and advice on achieving our shared objective of being a community that enables people to "age well".
