Breakfast of bacon and eggs and a selection of fresh fruit, juice and damper with native jams will be served from 7am to 9.30am.
A gold coin donation is requested, with all proceeds supporting the Eagles Softball Club.
Free facepainting and Colouring Competition with prizes for the kids.
We encourage you to bring your picnic blanket or foldup chair to relax and enjoy the morning's events and live broadcast.
At 11am, join us for the official Australia Day proceedings that will include speeches, Citizenship Ceremony and presentations of the Australia Day Citizen of the Year Awards.
Presentations will be made to:
- Citizen of the Year - Peter Hughes
- Young Citizen of the Year - Ryan Walker
- Community Event of the Year - Port Lincoln Show
- Award for Active Citizenship - Anthony Piantedosi
City of Port Lincoln will be giving away 500 free native tube stock this year at the official Australia Day ceremony. Be sure to come along and pick up your free plant - available while stocks last.
At 1pm to 3pm a special Reflections Event and free open community arts session, "Ngandyarnidi" (To Remember), will be hosted by local Barngarla woman Emmalene Richards at Shelley Beach, Power Terrace, Port Lincoln. Art materials and light refreshments will be provided, offering a space for learning, healing and connection.
