 Expressions of Interest Community Grant Funding 2018-19 

EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST PROCESS NOW OPEN FOR

MAJOR EVENTS, ACTIVITIES OR PROGRAMS

GRANT FUNDING

The City of Port Lincoln is calling for Expressions of Interest (EOI) for Community Grant Funding for major events, activities or programs under the following categories:

  1. Connecting our Community - Community Wide
  2. Growing our Community - Major

Applications for the Community Wide or Major categories must be made via the Expressions of Interest form and can be submitted to Council from Thursday 26 July 2018 up until the close of business Friday 24 August 2018.

Applicants should read the Community Grant Funding Policy for eligibility guidelines, funding categories, application and assessment process prior to making an application.

Any successful applications for the 2018/19 financial year, endorsed by Council under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), will be for a twelve month period only, due to the forthcoming local government elections. 

Applications for community funding under the other categories can be made throughout the year, after the Community Wide and Major category EOI process has been finalised.

COMMUNITY GRANT FUNDING PROGRAM

Council is committed to supporting local events, projects, programs and activities in recognition of their community resilience, building capacity and valuable contributions to the local economy. The three categories under each of the two Community Grant Funding programs 'Connecting our Community' and 'Growing our Community' are aligned to Council's strategic goals and objectives for social inclusion, community resilience and enhanced liveability.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible to apply for grant funding applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • be an incorporated community organisation, sporting club or association or be in partnership with such;
  • operate within the City of Port Lincoln or demonstrate how the project will benefit the local community;
  • hold appropriate public liability insurance and adhere to WHS and Risk Management practices;
  • demonstrate financial viability;
  • fit within the appropriate category detailed in Section 4 of the Community Grant Funding policy and address evaluation criteria.

Applicants are encouraged to read the Community Grant Funding Policy for eligibility guidelines, funding categories, application and assessment process. 

It is recommended that you discuss your proposal with Council’s Community Development team prior to submitting an application by contacting Council on 8621 2300.

Application Process

Group, Local, Regional and Visitor Categories

To enable responsiveness and support for community driven energy, ideas and partnerships, a small amount of funding will be available all year round for the following categories:

  1. Connecting our Community - Group
  2. Connecting our Community - Local
  3. Growing our Community - Regional
  4. Growing our Community - Visitor

Grant funding for the above four categories are made by completing an application form which will be available after the Community Wide and Major EOI process is finalised.

Applications for these four grant categories should be submitted to the Council Administration Office six (6) weeks prior to the event taking place to allow sufficient time for processing and presenting to Council if applicable.   

Community Wide and Major Categories

Expressions of Interest (EOI) for grant funding for the following categories will be called in July each year.  

  1. Connecting our Community - Community Wide; and
  2. Growing our Community - Major.

The Funding Review Panel established by Council will assess the EOI applications with the recommendations presented at the next available Ordinary Council meeting for endorsement under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

This program aims to support events and activities that:

  • Provide regular opportunity for the community to come together;
  • Increase relevant service organisation activities and programs available to the community and awareness of such; and
  • Develop knowledge, skills and confidence of community members.

 2.  Growing our Community

This program aims to encourage and support events and activities that:

  • Positively promote the City as a destination of choice and enhance the experience of locals and visitors alike;
  • Encourage increased investment in the community;
  • Positively impact on liveability outcomes.
