Council Facilities closed from midnight - 18 November 2020
In response to the South Australian Government’s announcement today, from midnight tonight all Council facilities will be closed to the public for the next six days and will then be reviewed after this time in line with the directives made by SA Health and the South Australian Government.
The Council Administration Offices in the Civic Centre, Port Lincoln Library, Nautilus Arts Centre and the Port Lincoln Visitor Information Centre will be closed to the public. Essential Council staff will be available by phone at the Council Administration Offices.
Mill Cottage, Arteyrea and the Port Lincoln Leisure Centre will also be closed.
All short term licences or permits issued by Council for upcoming events have been cancelled until further notice. Staff will be in contact with those affected by phone.
Mayor Brad Flaherty said, “These are challenging times, and we understand that. Just when our community was starting to reap the rewards of regional holidaymakers, we’re hit with a second round of COVID restrictions. But we know that community safety is paramount and we support the measures taken by the SA Health and the State Government. As a community we need to band together, be calm and respectful and do our bit to ensure the longer term safety of all, especially the most vulnerable within our community.”
“I encourage everyone to please not panic and keep informed of the current restrictions by going to the trusted COVID-19 information for South Australians at www.covid-19.sa.gov.au/ and for the latest health alert news at www.sahealth.sa.gov.au”.
If you require further information on the new directions you can call the SA COVID-19 Information Line on 1800 253 787 between the hours of 9am and 5pm, 7 days a week.
