The City of Port Lincoln known as the Seafood Capital of Australia will shortly commence the search for a new Chief Executive Officer, as current CEO Matthew Morgan plans to leave in August to take on a role in the private sector.
Mayor Mislov wished Matthew all the best for the future and thanked him for his time at Council, adding “Matthew has been instrumental in recent years in driving new emphasis on strategic and long term planning as well as securing significant competitive funding for projects such as the Foreshore Project, Whait Reserve Upgrade and the refurbishment of the Ravendale Sports Complex Change facilities.”
“It’s an exciting time in Port Lincoln, with a lot of opportunity for the future, so we’re hoping to embark on a recruitment process that will see a new CEO come on board and build on the strong foundations which have been laid, and continue to deliver for our community in a sustainable way.” said Mayor Mislov.
“I feel very honoured and grateful to have had the opportunity to perform the role of CEO here at Port Lincoln over the past few years, we have an amazing team of staff and a very committed and community focused group of elected members and beyond that we have a fantastic community of people.” said Mr Morgan.
“The future is bright, and we’ve been able to build strong relationships with the state government and other agencies and I have been very lucky to be involved in projects such as the Foreshore Project, securing UniHub Spencer Gulf and developing partnerships with Country Arts SA and also the Office of Sport and Recreation to create sustainable change for the local community.” said Mr Morgan.
Matthew Morgan commenced with Council in October 2020 as CEO and will leave on 25 August 2023 to take on a role with global scale-up tech company, PlotBox, which provides cloud-based management and mapping solutions to government, local government and cemetery management authorities around the world.
