Eyre Street Stormwater Pump Station project
Construction of the Eyre Street Stormwater Pump Station is being undertaken by BMD Constructions with the project commencing on Monday 29 April 2019 with the mobilisation of the site facilities.
Traffic control requirements will be put in place which will limit access in the vicinity of and through Eyre Street between Tasman Terrace and Liverpool Street. As the project progresses, the traffic restrictions will be progressively changed to suit the work phases of the project.
We have provided the traffic management layout plan for stage one here for your information.
Eyre Street will be closed to the public from Wednesday 8 May 2019 until the completion of the project which is expected to be the end of the year.
The first phase of the works involves the installation of steel sheet piles to be driven into the ground within Eyre Street. The sheet pile installation is set to commence on the 19 May 2019 and will take approximately two weeks to complete.
We are aware that the works to be carried out will be noisy and the closure of Eyre Street will cause some inconvenience to traffic movement in this area and appreciate the public’s cooperation and understanding while the works are being carried out.
Update as at 29 May 2019
BMD Constructions will be altering their approach to the sheet pile drive works for two days (namely Tuesday 4 and Wednesday 5 June) - pending weather and unforeseen site conditions - refer notification for full details.
If you have any concerns about the road closure or the project, please contact the Council Office on 8621 2300 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
