Capture 'Port Lincoln' in a Frame Promotion

Council is calling for community members to be involved in a new look website for City of Port Lincoln, currently being developed with the Local Government Association, by inviting members of the community who have a passion for photography and would like to be involved in this exciting project to capture Port Lincoln's places and spaces.   

The promotion is free and open to residents who live in the council areas of City of Port Lincoln, District Council of Lower Eyre Peninsula and District Council of Tumby Bay. 

Persons under 18 years of age, as at 1 March 2018 can also enter, but must have permission from their parent/guardian.  

There is no limit on the number of photographs submitted by a person, except that it is recommended that each photograph be different in nature. 

All photographs must be the original work of the person submitting the photo and should be taken between 1 March 2019 to 30 April 2019 (period of entry) or within the last 12 months. 

In the event people appear in your photograph, and are clearly identifiable the photographer must obtain permission from the person, and/or parent/guardian of any children under 18 years of age by asking them to complete and sign a Photo Release Form to be forwarded with the photograph.  

Photos must be taken within the City of Port Lincoln council boundary area with the exception of the Port Lincoln Airport and North Shields Cemetery.  Photographs must showcase Port Lincoln’s places and spaces in the areas of:

* Animal Management  * Litter Control * Roads
* Building and Development * Marina * Sporting Facilities
* Business Community * Memorials * Statues
* Caravan Park  * Mobile Food Vendors * Stormwater
* CBD * Museums * Tourism
* Cemeteries * Parking * Town Jetty
* Community Events * Playgrounds * Volunteering
* Cruise Ships * Port Lincoln Airport * Walking Trails
* Footpaths * Port Lincoln Library * Waste and Recycling
* Foreshore * Public Art Projects * Wharf
* Landscapes * Nautilus Arts Centre * or of any other nature that reflects our community spaces and places

Photographs are accepted up until 5pm on Tuesday 30 April 2019.

How to enter

First you must read and agree to the Terms and Conditions* of the promotion. 

Submitting your photograph

  • You can submit your photo(s) anytime within the period of entry by emailing City of Port Lincoln at
    • Include in the email subject line: Capture ‘Port Lincoln’ in a Frame
  • Save your photo as a JPEG file (minimum of 300 dpi) at the highest resolution/quality setting
  • Name each photo with your first and last name, a short description and the date taken
  • Attach your photo(s) – note you may need to submit one image per email or include a dropbox link to the images in the body of the email (do not insert the photo into the body of the email)
  • Attach Photo Release Form where required

*The Terms and Conditions were amended on 7 March 2019 to clarify that any images submitted for the Capture 'Port Lincoln' in a Frame promotion will only be used on Council's website, facebook page and in corporate documents and internal presentations as deemed appropriate by Council.  No images will be used for commercial purposes or financial gain.
