Community Events on Council land
City of Port Lincoln supports local events that are inclusive and brings people together and that contributes to the overall good mental health and well-being of our community. New events, activities and programs that support's the city's strategic directions can apply for grant funding under the city's Community Grant Funding Program. Community events can be held on the Port Lincoln Foreshore and Council Parks, Land or Reserves with permission from Council.
Applications must be lodged at least two months prior to the scheduled event to allow enough time for Council staff to process your request. Late applications may not be approved.
Anyone wishing to hold a community event is required to complete a Community Event Permit Application Form and a Risk Assessment and Event Management Plan and obtain any other relevant permits and licences i.e. relating to food, alcohol, fireworks, road closures etc.
It is recommended that you get approval of your event first before advertising your event.

How to apply
To apply for a Community Event permit you will need to complete and return the following:
Community Event Permit Application Form 16-6-T31 [PDF] and attach the following documents:
- a copy of your public liability insurance certificate of currency to the amount of $20 million noting City of Port Lincoln as an interested party;
- copy of the amusement structure supplier’s certificate of currency showing public liability insurance to the value of at least twenty million dollars ($20,000,000) per claim, if applicable;
- a site plan of your event including marquees, food/drink vans, vehicles, entry/exit points, entertainment and amusement rides;
- a copy of SafeWork SA - Registered Amusement Structure Certificate, if applicable.

Please note: Equipment Hire is only available to government agencies, charitable (not-for profit) organisations, schools and community groups. Hire is NOT available to businesses or private persons. Equipment is only for use in the Port Lincoln area.
The completed forms can be forwarded to Council with the appropriate fees as set out in Council's Fees and Charges Schedule either by:

Promotion of event
If you would like to promote your event with Council you can apply to place an advertising sign at the Lincoln Highway Entrance Sign or display a banner on the Port Lincoln Foreshore Bollards. You can also submit your community event details on Council's online Community Events Calendar.
The Special Event Permit to promote your event (application below) must be completed and submitted at least two weeks prior to the event date.
