Council Member Registers

Council is to make available to the public the following registers as required by the Local Government Act 1999 and associated regulations.

Pursuant to Section 68 & 70 of the Local Government Act 1999, the Chief Executive Officer is required to maintain and publish a Register of Interest for all Council Members on Council's website, ensuring that a person's residential address, or any other address suppressed under section 68(4)(a) of the Act, is not published.

Pursuant to Section 72A of the Local Government Act 1999, a member of a council who receives a gift or benefit of an amount greater than the amount determined by the Minister (by notice in the gazette)*, must provide details of the gift or benefit to the chief executive officer of the council.

A Council Member Gifts & Benefits Register is maintained in accordance with Section 72A(4) of the Act, and the declared gifts and benefits are included in the Register.

*For the purposes of Section 72A(2) of the Act, the value of $50 has been gazetted by the Minister on 17 November 2022.

Pursuant to Section 74, 75 and 75A of the Local Government Act, 1999 the Council must publish on its website details regarding disclosures of general or material conflicts of interests by Council Members.

Register of Conflict of Interest by Members of Council [PDF]

Pursuant to Section 79 of the Local Government Act 1999, the Council must keep a Register of Allowances and Benefits, in accordance with principles (if any) prescribed by the regulations, in respect of each member of the council:

(a)   the annual allowance payable to the member; and
(b)   details of any expenses reimbursed by the council under section 77(1)(b); and
(c)   details of other benefits paid or payable to, or provided for the benefit of, the member of the Council.
