Celebrating National Reconciliation Week 2026
The City of Port Lincoln is inviting the community to come together to take part in National Reconciliation Week 2026, with a special afternoon tea at the Port Lincoln Library on Wednesday, 3 June 2026 at 3pm, and Nunga Screen event at the Nautilus Arts Centre on Thursday, 28 May 2026.
Running from 27 May to 3 June, this year’s theme, ‘All In’, encourages all Australians to take part in reconciliation through everyday actions and a shared commitment to understanding and respect.
Mayor Diana Mislov said, “The theme is a reminder that reconciliation is something everyone can be part of.”
“Reconciliation starts with simple things, listening to one another, learning about our shared history, and coming together as a community.”
“This National Reconciliation Week, I encourage our community to take the time to connect, whether that’s by attending a local event, having a conversation, or learning more about the stories and cultures that shape our region.”
As part of the week’s activities, the City of Port Lincoln, in collaboration with Country Arts SA, will present Nunga Screen at the Nautilus Arts Centre on Thursday, 28 May 2026 at 5.30pm.
This free community film screening celebrates First Nations stories and filmmakers. The program runs for approximately 45 minutes and is rated PG.
“Events like the Nunga Screen and the Library afternoon tea provide opportunities to come together in relaxed and welcoming settings, to reflect, share and continue building understanding.”
Community members are encouraged to attend these events and be part of the conversation as we continue our reconciliation journey together.
