Council adopts Youth Action Plan
The City of Port Lincoln is proud to announce the adoption of its first-ever Youth Action Plan 2026–2031, endorsed at the Ordinary Council Meeting on Monday, 20 April 2026.
This Plan represents an important step in how Council will support, engage and empower young people across Port Lincoln over the next five years. It outlines Council’s commitment to:
- creating welcoming, youth‑friendly spaces, programs and accessible information
- working in partnership with schools, community organisations, youth groups and service providers
- advocating strongly for young people by championing their wellbeing, responding to emerging needs, and attracting partnerships and investment.
The Youth Action Plan has been shaped by the voices of local young people and those who support them. Extensive consultation was undertaken through a youth survey in 2025, along with public consultation via presentations and Council’s Engagement Hub between February and March 2026. Feedback from young people, community organisations, service providers and key stakeholders directly informed the priorities and actions within the Plan.
Mayor Diana Mislov said, “The adoption of the Plan reflects Council’s strong commitment to young people and their future.”
“Young people are a vital part of our community, and this Plan ensures their voices help guide the programs, services and opportunities we deliver.”
“The feedback we received through consultation was incredibly valuable and has helped us develop a Plan that genuinely reflects the priorities and aspirations of local young people.”
Council thanks everyone who took part in the consultation process and looks forward to working closely with young people and community partners to deliver the actions outlined in the Plan. Council also welcomes ongoing feedback as the Youth Action Plan is implemented over the next five years.
