Mayor Diana Mislov said, “We are proud to support these deserving organisations through our Community Grant Funding program, and their success reflects the valuable contributions they already make to our community.”
“These organisations are already delivering valuable benefits for Port Lincoln, whether that's bringing visitors to our city through major events, feeding locals experiencing financial hardship, creating opportunities for young people to engage with their community, or helping local families to access essential healthcare.”
“We thank these organisations for their work and are pleased to support them as they continue delivering benefits for our community over the coming years.”
Linda Davies, Manager of Port Lincoln Community House, said, “We are humbly grateful for the grant funding provided by Council, which will be a huge help to us as we continue providing nourishing meals for a wide range of locals doing it tough.”
“We are seeing increasing financial pressures in our community and more people are turning to us for help, including a rise in older community members seeking support and those travelling from across the Eyre Peninsula to access our programs.”
“I see this grant as a great example of our community working together. Council has contributed this funding, local businesses provide financial support, local volunteers give their time, and we purchase supplies locally to support the local economy. Together, those contributions are reinvested into our community to help those doing it tough.”
The Flagship Events and Community Wellbeing streams form part of Council's broader Community Grant Funding Program. Applications for Sport and Recreation grants are currently being assessed, with successful recipients expected to be announced before the end of October. Additional grant funding opportunities are still available through Council's Quick Response Grants program, which is available to eligible community groups and organisations throughout the financial year or until funds are exhausted.
