Council to seek community input into Port Lincoln's future
The City of Port Lincoln has commenced a comprehensive review of its current Strategic Directions Plan 2021-2030. This review aims to gather valuable input from the community to help shape Port Lincoln’s future 10-year plan, beginning in August 2024.
To facilitate this, the Council will be holding key stakeholder and community workshops at the Nautilus Arts Centre, Media Room on Monday 19 August and Tuesday 20 August 2024. The times and details for these workshops will be announced soon via Council’s website and Facebook page or by direct invitation. These workshops will be led by an external consultant to ensure a thorough and unbiased review. Alternatively, the community can provide feedback via a survey available on Council’s online Engagement Hub yoursay.portlincoln.sa.gov.au, from Monday 12 August 2024 to Friday 30 August 2024, 12pm. Hardcopies of the survey will be available from the Council Office and Port Lincoln Library.
The review process will be conducted in five stages:
Stage 1: July-August - Elected Member Workshops and Leadership/Staff Workshops
Stage 2: August – Key Stakeholder & Community Workshops and Survey
Stage 3: August-September – Preparation of the Draft Strategic Directions Plan
Stage 4: September-October - Community consultation on the Draft Strategic Directions Plan
Stage 5: November - Adoption of the revised Strategic Directions Plan 2025-2034
Mayor Diana Mislov said, I encourage those who are interested in progressing and shaping the future of our wonderful City to take the time to come along to a workshop or complete the survey available online or in hardcopy form. These key stakeholder and community engagement sessions are an opportunity to have your say about the key matters that impact your daily life and well-being of our community.
“I urge residents to review the current Strategic Directions Plan 2021-2030 and provide your comments on whether the city is moving in the right direction or if there are other areas of focus.
Residents can stay informed and participate by signing up for Council’s online Engagement Hub at yoursay.portlincoln.sa.gov.au. If you do not wish to sign up the survey will be available to anyone without registering.
