Port Lincoln is gearing up for an exciting 2024/2025 cruise ship season, welcoming ten ships and over 30,000 passengers and crew between October 2024 and February 2025. The season kicks off on Wednesday 2 October 2024 with the maiden arrival of the ‘Diamond Princess’, marking the first of ten cruise ship visits for the 2024/2025 season.

Mayor Diana Mislov said, “We are thrilled to welcome the Diamond Princess on its first visit to Port Lincoln.  Our ‘Welcome Program’ ensures every visit is memorable, thanks to our dedicated volunteers and Visitor Centre team, who embody Port Lincoln’s renowned hospitality. Collectively their passion for showcasing our region makes a lasting impression on all who visit.”

Port Lincoln’s ‘Welcome Program’ offers a warm welcome with Visitor Centre staff and local volunteers providing assistance, tours, and information to ensure visitors experience the best of the city. From sampling local seafood to exploring the stunning coastline and wildlife, passengers will enjoy everything the region has to offer.

Some 500 shore excursions have already been booked, ensuring passengers will get to experience much of what Port Lincoln and Southern Eyre Peninsula has to offer, with local tour operators providing informative and expert commentary on the region and providing opportunities for visitors to sample local food and wine. “We know from feedback received in our cruise passenger survey, that passengers really love the local tours in the region as well as the city in general. Some 86% reported they would recommend Port Lincoln as a holiday destination to their friends, which is a wonderful endorsement,” said Manager Economic Development and Tourism, Naomi Blacker.
