Works will continue on the Town Jetty next week to complete the swimming enclosure gangway support modifications.

Until the gangways can be fully re-opened, sections of the Jetty and Swimming Enclosure will be temporarily opened and closed as required during the various stages of work.

Please continue to observe safety directions in place and remain outside of closed off sections while we work to complete these improvements. We thank the community for their patience on this matter.

Update 7 August 2026

Works will continue on the Town Jetty next week. We look forward to reopening sections of the jetty and swimming enclosure as soon as possible.

Please continue to observe signage in place and follow safety directions. We thank the community for their patience.

Original notice

The Port Lincoln Town Jetty and Swimming Enclosure will be temporarily closed from 10.00am on Monday 3 August to allow planned improvement works to be completed. A 50-metre exclusion zone will also apply in the surrounding water.

Following engineering advice, Council has engaged a local contractor to install additional supports to the two gangways connecting the jetty with the floating pontoons.

The installation of two piles and associated support brackets will reduce pressure on the existing gangway connections and improve their resilience during extreme weather events. This proactive work will help protect Council’s investment and extend the useful life of these well-used and much-loved community assets.

The Town Jetty and Swimming Enclosure are expected to reopen on Friday 7 August.

To allow the works to be completed efficiently, members of the public are asked not to access the Town Jetty or Swimming Enclosure and to remain outside the designated exclusion zone while contractors are on site.

Council appreciates the community’s cooperation during this short closure and looks forward to reopening the facilities once the improvements are complete.

Updates confirming the reopening will be published on the City of Port Lincoln website and Facebook page.
