Temporary traffic and parking changes - Civic Centre renewal works

The City of Port Lincoln advises that temporary traffic and parking changes will be in place on Friday, 23 October 2026 to support crane lifting activities associated with the Civic Centre roof and heating, ventilation and air-conditioning renewal project.

Parking exclusion zones will be established on Tasman Terrace and Washington Street from the evening of Thursday 22, October 2026 to ensure the work areas are clear for the following morning.

Tasman Terrace

Traffic management will commence from approximately 6.00am. The crane lift is expected to take approximately three to four hours and will require:

• temporary closure of westbound traffic;
• eastbound traffic to remain open under traffic control; and
• temporary removal of approximately eight angled parking spaces adjacent to the Civic Centre and neighbouring businesses.

Washington Street

Following completion of the Tasman Terrace lift, the crane and work zone will relocate to Washington Street. During these works:

• Washington Street will operate under a temporary managed two-way traffic arrangement;
• access to surrounding businesses and off-street commercial and Council car parks will be maintained;
• on-street parking within the affected section will be unavailable; and
• 41 on-street parking spaces, four caravan/bus parking spaces and six loading zones will be temporarily affected.

Traffic management personnel will be on site throughout the works. Motorists and pedestrians are asked to follow all directions, allow additional travel time and use alternative parking where possible.

This is the first of four planned crane lift activities for the project, with further lifts anticipated through to early December. Advance notice of future dates and traffic arrangements will be provided.

Council acknowledges the temporary inconvenience and thanks businesses, residents and visitors for their patience and cooperation while these important renewal works are undertaken.
